Equity investments carry some risk; share prices may change quickly and go down as well as up and you may not get back the money you invested. The Alternative Investment Market (AIM) is a market designed primarily for emerging or smaller companies. The rules of this market are less demanding than those of the official List of the London Stock Exchange and therefore companies quoted on AIM carry a greater risk than a company with a full listing. AIM shares often have a large difference between the buying price and the selling price. If they have to be sold immediately, you may get back much less than you paid for them.
